Wednesday afternoon the trade was finalized. Shaquille O’ Neal was traded by the Miami Heat to the Phoenix Suns for Shawn Marion, and Marcus Banks. “Shaq”, as he is referred to by fans, is a 7 foot 1 inch center from Newark, New Jersey. He played college basketball at Louisiana State. The Suns are Shaq's fourth team in his career.
This season with the heat, Shaq is averaging 14 points 7 rebounds and 1 block per game in limited time and is suffering from an injured hip. He has missed fifteen games this season, and at one time he missed eight in a row.
For his career, Shaq averages 25 points per game, along with eleven rebounds and two blocks per game and has averaged 36 minutes per game. Those average however have gone down drastically in the last two seasons, with him averaging about 28 minutes, fifteen points, seven rebounds, and one block per game.
