The Golden Compass
Book Review
We've all heard about the book The Golden Compass, whether it was the movie, the news report, or you actually visited a library. The book was written by an atheist and maybe if he had prayed to God he could have written it better.
The characters were good especially Lyra, the main character. A spunky girl who has adventures with her best friend Will. For all those who puke on Disney movies this tale actually has a dark side. An epic battle between God and the Devil occurs and Lyra is actually Eve from the garden. The book is good with a lot of interesting characters but it's completely psycho.
The first book deals with Lyra and her demon(named Pan) and their quest to free their friends. Treachery from bo th of Lyra's parents make up the climax scene. On a side note a pretty good bear fight occurs.
In the second book Lyra meets Will a courageous yet naive boy and things really heat up. With the use of a subtle knife the trio is able to transport between worlds. The second one is proably the most boring but descripitive book of the trilogy.
The third book deals with the fight between the rogue angels led by Lyra's father and the Church(god). A pretty good climax in this one.
I guess you could read this book. Although Pullman has a hundred different writings throughout the story and an amatuer could've wrote better I suggest you read it.

Who wrote this? Harsh!
I remember reading the first book a long time ago and absolutely loving it! The plot was original and the characters were vivid and lovable. Not to mention the daemons! What's not to love about an animal companion who's always there to help?
Sheesh, it was Kendall. Go figure.
Kendall, next time you wanna rag on a good book, go back, correct all the grammar mistakes and generally polish your review. It makes your story sound very unintelligent.
